The Country Club of Virginia offers three distinctly different golf courses designed by noted course architects Donald Ross, William Flynn, and Joe Lee. The celebrated James River Course has hosted numerous championships including the Southern Amateur Championship and the 1955 and 1975 National U.S. Amateur Championships.
The Federal Club is located in Virginia’s scenic southwest Hanover County in Glen Allen’s Mountain Run Subdivision.
The unique course layout challenges experienced players, while at the same time helping newcomers relax as they enjoy learning this classic game. The course manages this with six sets of tees spanning many distances. There are bentgrass greens and fairways with bluegrass fescue roughs.

Located just west of Richmond, Independence, is Virginia’s premier public golf course and event venue. Recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top courses in Richmond, we have reduced playing time by almost an entire hour.

Meandering through the foothills alongside the South Anna River and Stagg Creek, Hanover Golf Club is perfectly suited for competitive golfers playing the course at its full yardage, as well as casual golfers who prefer to enjoy the natural undulations from our forward tees and fast greens.
Following an extensive renovation in 2009, our Riviera grass fairways and lush A-1, A-4 bent grass greens are kept in excellent condition year-round for our members and guests. Our newly renovated driving range and short-game practice facilities enable our members to work on their golf game with help from our professionals. Instruction includes individual lessons and clinics, as well as professional club fitting. If you’re ready to improve your golf game, Hanover Golf Club is the place to do it!
The immaculate 18-hole golf course offers extensive land features and a variety of hole lengths, resulting in one of the most visually exciting courses in the mid-Atlantic region. Amidst breathtaking lakeside views, our spectacular golf course has five sets of tees (and two hybrid tees), making it enjoyable for players of all skill levels. As a mixture of lush fairways, doglegs, risk, and reward, the course has been carefully designed to be a challenging but fair test of golf that you will look forward to playing every day. In addition, our PGA Professional Golf Staff is ready to help you enjoy our wonderful course even more!
Nestled in the gently rolling hills of historical Hanover County, The Hollows Golf Course gives golfers a relaxing escape from the rigors of eveyrday life. Family owned and run, with 3 unique nines totalling 27 holes on the property, The Hollows creates relaxed atmosphere that welcomes everyone! Located 10 minutes from I-295 and only minutes from most locations in north Richmond.
